3 Main Branches Of Government

The following branches relate to United States of America: there is the executive branch; there is the legislative branch and then is the judicial branch.

The executive branch is used to enforce the laws and is procedural in nature. This branch is headed by the president of the United states and it makes sure that the people in the US obey the rules and regulations of the country. The president of the United states is elected by the people of the US and will serve 4 years in power. A maximum of eight years can be served by the United States President. The vice President assists the President and is second in the command chain.

The next branch of the government is the legislative branch and this is related to Congress. This branch is responsible for making in the laws. In Congress you have the Senate and the House of Representatives. You will find in every state that there 2 Senators do again elected by the people of the United States. In fact the senators are elected by the people of that particular state. Unlike the president of the United States the Senators do not have any term limits. Senators can serve up to six years and then be re-elected again and again and again. The total number of Senators are 100 that are serving the six year term.

The other mini branch of the Congress is the House of Representatives. Representation of the House of Representatives is determined by the number of people lived in each State. So the more people in a state the more representatives there will be. Democracy is also demonstrated by the fact that representatives are elected by the people of the state. Like Senators, the House of Representatives have no term limits but can be re-elected time and time again. The House of Representatives serve two years in office.

The judicial branch exists to translate the laws of the land. This branch is made up of the court system and will translate the laws for the people. If there are arguments and disputes concerning the laws then the judicial branch can intervene. A key question of this branch is whether or not the laws are constitutional or not. Under the umbrella of the judicial branch is the Supreme Court which is the highest court in the United States. There also the Federal Court and the Court of Appeals.
